EDAR’s staff are highly qualified across a number of disciplines and are encouraged to utilise their skills and expertise in developing programs and activities across all of the EDAR services.
Qualifications of current staff include:
• Disability Studies - Certificate III & IV/Diploma/Graduate Diploma/Masters Degree;
• Bachelor of Applied Sciences - Intellectual Disability;
• Bachelor of Education up to Masters Degree - Primary/Secondary/Special Education;
• Bachelor of Health Sciences;
• Bachelor of Arts - Music/Psychology/Philosophy/Sculpture/Art Therapy;
• Diploma in Welfare;
• Diploma of Shiatsu Massage Therapy;
• Advanced Certificate in Residential & Community Services;
• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, Occupational Health & Safety and Nursing.
Team Leaders
Team leaders are employed in each EDAR service and work with the Management Team to ensure optimal client services and day to day operations of individual services. This position is central to effective communication across the organisation, between service staff, clients, families and carers.
Key Workers
The role of the Key Worker is to provide individualised support for each client. The Key Worker meets with the client on arrival to the service discussing information provided through their communication diary as well as the timetable for the day’s activities. The Key Worker is known to the client as the person they can turn to if they have issues or concerns requiring further support.
Family Liaison Coordinator
EDAR recognises the continuing challenges faced by parents/carers throughout their son/daughters life which led to the creation of the Family Liaison Coordinator. The position was established to provide a network for parents/carers to meet and exchange ideas and support as well as to provide information.
