EDAR provides day programs for adults with disabilities within the guidelines stated in the Disability Act 2006. The Act is guided by the principles of human rights and citizenship and provides a framework for a whole of government and whole of community approach to enable people with a disability to actively participate in the community.
EDAR was developed by parents in 1979 as a non-government organisation and has grown into an innovative service which works to support adults with a disability by developing new and community inclusive programs.

EDAR will support the person to achieve this vision by:
Encouraging the principles of rights, independence and choice about how the person wants to live and what supports are needed;
Developing and building upon the individuals existing skills, knowledge and experiences to make a valued contribution to their community;
Assisting the person to achieve their goals and dreams by developing networks to achieve the desired outcomes;
Regularly reviewing the progress and services provided to ensure each person's specific needs and requirements are being met to enable them to continue to grow and develop.
EDAR's services are intimate and therefore have the ability to be more individualised. Clients commence each day at a particular service however access a range of programs and activities across EDAR's various locations and the wider community during the week.
